Course Description:

This 10-week Improvisational Theatre course, will focus on the foundations of Improvisational Theatre and the building blocks needed to create deep, rich, meaningful 2-person scenes. Participants will be guided through and play a series of Improvisation Exercises and Games that allows them to experience and explore what Improvisational Theatre is all about.

Participants will be provided a safe, supportive, environment to learn, explore, practice, PLAY and, above all, have FUN!  We learn best when we are having FUN!  And Improv is supposed to be FUN!

Stage-1 is separated into two parts:

Part 1 - will be focused on the theatrical elements necessary to create a strong “Where” for a scene to take place.  By activating and letting their imagination flow, participants will get “out of their heads and into the space”.  Allowing the body to lead and make discoveries, then using focus to “heighten and explore” these discoveries.

 

Part 2 - will be focused on creating deep meaningful 2-person scenes and the tools necessary to remove the pressure to create, so participants can patiently feel their way through a scene.

No experience required.  On the final class there will be a performance showcase for your family and friends, to show them what you’ve been up to.​
